Trust me you are not alone!

Nearly 2 years ago I moved to Umeå to be with my partner. I found the town and the people in it to be a highly welcoming place to be. My language skills were awful and to my good fortune everyone around me spoke to me in English. Of course this led to complacency and recently I signed up to a SFI course (Swedish for Immigrants).

This was my first opportunity to meet other people who have moved to Umeå from other countries and it saddened me to hear mixed reviews about other people's experiences with the city and how hard it has been to make friends etc. So I decided to make this website so there was a resource for people moving to the area so they do not have to feel quite so alone.
