Umeå never fails to surprise me, there is always something new to learn and fascinating things to keep me thrilled about the area in which I find myself living.  Most recently this occurred at 11pm last night when I took the dog out for her evening trot.  I was doing my usual evening route when I turned the corner and what did I see? A rainbow staring back at me!
That is something you will never see in the UK – a midnight rainbow. Â It was beautiful and was really clear. Â You could see both ends of it looking like it was going from Mariehem Centrum right into Nydala lake. Â I tried to take a picture with my phone from my balcony when I got back home but the camera isn’t brilliant so it hasn’t come out too well. Â The arrows clearly did not appear in the sky, was more just so you had a hope of finding it on the picture!!
It sounds really trite but when I see something like that it makes me all warm inside, like something is trying to cheer us up from a long long way away. Â Who or what that is I have no idea but the romantic side of me likes to believe in things like that.
So once again Umeå has put a smile in my heart.  This city really does just keep getting better and better.
Vi ses!
